American Airlines is offering double miles, up to an additional 10,000 miles, for new tickets booked by June 30 and travel by September 30. Registration required.
That mirrors American’s latest change fee waiver which lets you buy tickets through the end of the month, for travel through September 30, without fees to change your tickets should your plans change.
I’ve seen travel pick up slightly so far, but forward bookings to domestic leisure destinations (and even some international destinations) in July look reasonably strong. Now that people are at least open to traveling again it makes sense to try to goose bookings with American’s primary marketing vehicle.
They’re also promoting a fare sale through June 14, “includ[ing] destinations in the Sunshine State starting as low as $109 each way, including flights to Miami, Tampa, and Sarasota. These Summer Deals also include escapes to other US destinations for as low as $49 one-way.. for travel from July 7-August 15, 2020.”
AA Vacations is also offering $105 off 3-night vacation packages when booked by June 24 with promo code SUMMER2020 stackable with up to 30,000 bonus miles for booking specific destinations and hotels. Then on July 1 elite discounts for AA Vacations begin.
Probably worth mentioning these are award miles, vs. qualifying miles, as the latter would likely be a lot more interesting broadly I’d say
Yes double miles and then American can quadruple redemption costs after promo
Unfortunately they destroyed the core value of their program so worse than the corona virus no business from me.Rather choose a friendlier customer service centric airline I trust
@dwondermeant. +1.
