News and notes from around the interweb:
- Apple Card customers fail to pay their credit card bills at a surprising rate
- “Why I Would Never Go Back To The Bahamas” Atlantis is expensive and super young children aren’t going to value it, for what it’s worth.
- Grosser than gross, pets on a plane edition
- Dallas – Raleigh and LA – Boston get American Airlines Boeing 777-200s for November – January
- Status match and challenge offer from Virgin Australia use an address in Australia or New Zealand to join, somewhat useful for American and Delta elites with travel on United or Air Canada in the next 3 months.
- The ugly truth about Qantas CEO Alan Joyce “The celebrity CEO became rich while starving the airline of capital that could have been used to buy new planes, keep good staff and maintain its formerly high standards.” Saw his house from Sydney Harbor this summer, though, and it’s really nice.
- Tailwind Air has planned seaplane service between New York and the DC area but, apparently despite meeting all published rules, government agencies are standing in the way anyway – security concerns, they don’t use TSA screening, and travel through DC’s restricted airspace.
- Newfoundland trip notes “it makes for an excellent three-day weekend or nature-oriented week-long trip, and I hardly know any Americans who have tried that.”
Newfoundland is the one Canadian province I haven’t been to, so it’s on my bucket list, along with the three territories. I’ll combine it with a trip to St Pierre & Miquelon, another place most Americans don’t know exists. I was in Sardinia last week, and when the various sites asked where we were from for their survey, they always assumed we were from the UK. When we said the US, they always looked incredulous, like they never see Americans.
Too many people just go where everyone else goes, when everyone else goes, then complain about the crowds.
Everyone knows Joyce is garbage.
I think whether Apple Card customers pay their bills or not is directly relatable to what everyone enjoys reading
Apple Card is marketed to anyone with a face. Not too discriminating so no real surprise
Newfies are the best people in Canada. And St John’s is a wonderful place. Can’t recommend it enough – great place to spend time.
