Emirates is launching Dubai – Panama City as the new longest flight in the world operated by a Boeing 777-200LR.

But Singapore Airlines is poised to take the title when it re-launches non-stop service to the US, most likely in 2018, with new Airbus A350-900ULR aircraft.

Cathay Pacific Upping Its Lounge Game in North America

Airlines that offer a strong ground experience usually do so in their home markets, and sometimes to a lesser extent in a few key other markets, but rarely in outstations. And rarely in the United States.

But Cathay Pacific’s new Senior Vice President for North America has a charge to bring the experience here up to the standards of Asia. We can expect changes in San Francisco, then Vancouver, and perhaps New York.

American Business Class Award Space Wide Open to Paris

Between now and March American Airlines award availability between the US and Paris is very good. The absolute best availability appears to be from New York and Philadephia, although there is also some space from Miami, and Dallas.

Monday and Tuesdays are the absolute best, there are days with 7 or more business class award (and upgrade) seats available. But in the midst of winter you’ll see strong availability across several days of the week.
