CLEAR is a private, fee-based service that takes your biometrics and lets you identify yourself with your fingerprints or retina scan instead of showing an ID. At airports where they’re located you can then skip to the front of the security line – whether PreCheck or regular security.

However at some airports, like Atlanta, the lines for CLEAR can be longer than regular PreCheck and as a result this confers no advantage.

Tuesday’s Attack On Southwest Airlines Gate Agent Was So Bad Even Passenger’s Grandmother Is Appalled

A Southwest Airlines agent was punched – and then had to be restrained by another employee – after a disruptive passenger was offloaded off of a flight that had just returned to the gate on Tuesday.

The customer, identified by police as Courtney Drummond, can be seen in video taken by an onlooker shouting and walking up to the counter – before whaling on the employee who hadn’t been a part of any earlier altercation.

Chaos At Atlanta Airport As Gun Went Off At TSA Checkpoint

There was briefly a ground stop at the Atlanta airport as a loud bang caused mass chaos and mistaken reports of an active shooter on Saturday afternoon. The sound was an accidental discharge from a gun, but it appears no one was harmed.

Reportedly the gun discharged near a security checkpoint around 1:30 p.m. Eastern time and TSA screnners yelled “he’s got a gun” sending passengers into a panic.

Blood Started Spewing After A Customer Lost It At The Atlanta Airport Dollar Rent A Car

A reader shares that the Dollar Rent A Car line was out of control, stretching far enough back that it was going to take well over an hour to get a car. And things were deteriorating because a woman tried to rent a car with a debit card (which is allowed) but was being refused.

The woman became irate, not just at the clerk behind the counter but at everyone around. She reportedly hit something on the counter and smashed it into the Dollar clerk’s head. He started to bleed.

Atlanta Will Get A Centurion Lounge

Atlanta’s airport has selected American Express to build a new Centurion lounge over rival bids from Airport Dimensions (Collinson, which owns Priority Pass and The Club lounges) and Plaza Premium group. The Atlanta city council’s finance committee is expected to approve the 10 year lease with two 5 year renewal options today.

Chinese Aviation Races Back, But Atlanta Airport Is Still Busiest In The World

Ten of the top twenty airports in the world for departing seat capacity this week are in China,. Some of the busiest airports in the world may be places you haven’t heard of or at least, couldn’t place precisely on a map like Hangzhou, Chongquing and Kunming.

For all of China’s dominance here in Covid times around Chinese New Year the busiest airport in the world for domestic flying is still Atlantaa – and by a lot (17% ahead of the number two airport). Middle seat blocking helps here (Delta is flying more seats than they are selling) but Delta has retrenched to Atlanta to a large degree and it skews as a domestic hub even during normal times.

Marine Confronts A Trump Supporter At The Atlanta Airport Who Just Flew Home From D.C.

The Atlanta local CBS television station went to the airport to interview Trump supporters returning home from D.C. where some protested and others stormed the U.S. Capitol attempting to disrupt the counting of electoral votes last week.

While talking to a man in a Make America Great Again hat, a man walks up and identifies himself as a “twenty year Marine” and says he “fought for [the man’s right] to protest” and is offended by how the protests broke down into violence, calling them terrorists.
