Fiji Airways Dallas Flight, AAdvantage Miles and oneworld Membership Transform A Nation

Fiji Airways will launch non-stop service from Dallas – Fort Worth to Nadi, Fiji. This route makes a ton of sense, with the carrier becoming a full member of oneworld and adopting American’s AAdvantage as its frequent flyer program. I would not be surprised to see them add Seattle, home to oneworld member Alaska Airlines, in the future as well.

Fiji Airways Will Adopt American AAdvantage Miles As Its Currency

Fiji Airways doesn’t have a points program. They’re the primary carrier at their destination, and haven’t seen the need to invest for locals. For foreigners, if you’re going to Fiji it’s probably only once and you’re not going to stay loyal to the airline. There are passengers who connect over Fiji, of course, and where points could sway their choice of destination and therefore carrier. But they haven’t previously invested.

Fiji Airways Moving its Full Business Class Meal Service From the Air to the Ground

Many airlines have offered pre-flight dining in business class. Eat your meal in the airport before boarding, go right to sleep on board. That’s a nice option for short overnight flights.

Of course not everyone want to show up at the airport early to eat. And where this has been tried it’s generally presented either as a choice (eat beforehand instead of on the plane) or a shortened service where the food remains substantive. Not so at Fiji Airways.
