Singapore Airlines Will Introduce New Boeing 777 Business Class Seats and First Class Suites in 2022

Nov 11 2019

Singapore Airlines has several different first and business class products in its fleet. Their Airbus A380s are in the process of being transitioned from an old business and first class to a new product. Singapore’s A380 business class is an evolution over the old lie flat seat, in which taller passengers still have to sleep at an angle rather than parallel with the aisle. Meanwhile the first class suite has a separate seat and bed and dividers can be taken down for passengers traveling together so that they have a double bed to share. Singapore Airlines Introduces a Third Champagne Choice and More Caviar to First Class

Oct 23 2019

Unquestionably Singapore Airlines has one of the great international first class products. Admittedly their lounges are somewhat sub par. However their food and beverage program is outstanding. Their main meals are my favorite. And their wine program is fantastically curated. What could be greater luxury – beyond the quality of the champagnes, even – than the ability for passengers to have choice?

The best feature is “Book the Cook” which isn’t just pre-order something that’s going to be on the plane anyway, but an extensive menu of specialty items to choose from in advance that the airline will have on board for you.

The Trick Singapore Airlines Killed When They Eliminated Last Minute Waitlisting for Awards

Sep 02 2019

August 14 Singapore Airlines made a huge change to the ability to waitlist for award tickets. All wait list requests are cancelled 14 days prior to travel. There are no more last minute wait lists.

Singapore says the new rules ‘promote certainty’ and that’s certainly true. You know you cannot clear a wait list close to departure, because Singapore won’t allow it.

But why did they make this change?

Out Today: Nomadic Matt’s Ten Years on the Road

ten years a nomad
Jul 16 2019

In the end I’m not sure I learned anything about life that will change me forever but I enjoyed Matt’s stories, I related to some and lived vicariously through his very different travel style than mine at other times. The book is thoroughly enjoyable and more real than most of what you read about travel and for that Matt’s book deserves to be read, if only to encourage that honesty and humility.
