Trump Force One Returns To The Skies: Gold-Plated 757 Finally Repaired After Supporter Donations

After former President Trump lost the 2020 election, he no longer had access to Air Force One and his private Boeing 757 was left in disrepair. At the time I wrote that if you wanted to know when he was ready to run again, just watch his private private plane which has gold-plated everything down to the seat belts.

When he announced his candidacy for President seven years ago, he claimed to be worth $10 billion (though self-reported election filings suggested wealth one-eighth that). Yet he asked his small donors to pay for repairs on the plane, registration N757AF, which had been stored at Newburgh-Stewart airport in New York.

The plane appears to have been repaired and is now flight-worthy.

Trump’s jet has spent several hours over the last week running pattern flights above a small airport in Lake Charles, Louisiana, likely testing various updated components before heading to the Palm Beach International Airport, where it arrived Wednesday evening. Trump has previously indicated that the plane would be in Louisiana for repairs.

Oddly CNN claims that they were “first to report” that the 757, purchased from Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen in 2010 (Trump couldn’t afford to buy new, perhaps), sat at Stewart Airport – months after I covered it, sourced to the excellent Jon Ostrower (himself formerly of CNN!). The plane fly to an MRO in Louisiana on November 1, 2021.

Last month the former President ranted about dirty airports, delayed flights, and high ticket prices in a pivot from a discussion about murder rates.

Prior to acquiring this Boeing 757, for 14 years Trump, who once acquired the Eastern Airlines Shuttle, flew in a 1968 vintage ex-American Airlines Boeing 727 reconfigured with 24 seats and a bedroom, dining room, and conference rooms. Ironically he once tried to acquire American Airlines, but faced significant losses in the effort during the 1989 stock market mini-crash.

  1. Would be a little tough for Trump to buy a new 757 in 2010, since production ended in 2004.

  2. Im sure the little pathetic minions who were grifted/swindled out of their money for the rehab of Q-tRumps 747 are proud.

  3. @Donald Mamula…I don’t think Gary means a new 757 specifically. I think he means a new plane in general.

  4. I’m sure this article is going to make a the lispy libs seethe.

One more month until we take over again.

  5. And cue the maga zombies spewing insults, hate and racism because intelligent thought is beyond their capabilities. You’re right on time children!

  6. Or is it orange paint. . .left over from the spray tan.

Gotta laugh at this fool and hope more of us are voting then more of his followers.

  7. So much TDS from some folks. It’s an interesting news story. Hey Gary cover Al Gore and some others in future posts just for fun to see what they fly.

  8. @DMNYC – There is no equivalent to the 757 — as a number of airlines, and Boeing, have found out. An Airbus A321 might come close in some regards, but no cigar.

  9. The diseased ego flies again. Maybe the courts could do something special for him. Rehabbing a cell in Alcatraz sounds about right. Forget the jet, like Napoleon he can be the only prisoner on an island.

  10. 2+ years out of office and The Donald still lives rent free in the minds of all his haters.

  11. @JorgeGeorge Paez
You’ll get over it snowflake. Especially when we beat the snot out of the lgbt Dems next month.

  12. @sunviking82

When you steal the votes it doesn’t matter. Joe showed us that.

    We outnumber you.

  13. Civil war? Trumpers lose just like their civil war great grand daddies did. Trump lost the presidency, the house and the Senate, and can’t afford to fix his own junk, but Trumpers still sip that Kool aid!

  14. Incredible…Trump loves to boast how rich he is, yet he begs from hardworking, underpaid people to pay for this…can’t believe the MAGA faithful would fall for this!.

  15. This reminds me of politics in less developed countries like those in the Indian subcontinent and SW Asia, where “followers” of political figures come bearing gifts for the political figures even as the political figures don’t need the followers’ money as badly as their followers need money.

Trump is deplorable in taking advantage of his followers. He is better suited to being a politician in a banana republic than a leading American political figure. Trump’s followers funding Trump’s greedy lifestyle are a pitiful lot.

  16. @chad. He lost. Enough said. Time to build a bridge and get over it. 60+ court cases in front of Trump appointed judges proves it. Terrorist and traders do not change the results. Nixon and Trump were both mistake and black marks on Americans

  17. Surest sign I’ve seen yet that he intends to run for President again. He wouldn’t have spent the money to fix up the plane otherwise.

  18. It WAS just a news story, but because it mentions Donald Trump and his supporters, it’s now about inciting hate and anger, back and forth, as usual. It’s not actually about “Trump”, the person. He’s just “the one” this time around. It’s about those who are beholden to him, like his big donors and the American people who elected “Trump”. Paraphrasing KATHRYN BAECHT “What these people really excel at? Gerrymandering districts to consolidate political power. So even without Trump, they can still get politicians elected. And should Trump go to prison or flee to Russia to escape prosecution, have no fear. They’ll just pivot to DeSantis or Abbott or whichever monster riles up their base the most.”

  19. While the anti trump argument leans towards the pragmatic factual perspective that he is in fact a very dishonest person that cares about no one but himself, too many sink to the name calling mentality that trump has elevated from grammar school to national politics. It’s not necessary, the die hard trump supporters will never change their mind no matter what you say or what he does. Take the high road and let the real conservatives continue to move away from him based on the damage he has done to this country and forget about the people foolish enough to give some of their kids college fund to him to refurbish his private jet.

  20. Oh Chad, you silly misguided idiot. How much did you toss to poor little orange Trump to fix his plane? I am SURE he will reciprocate it back to you someday.

  21. So blue collar Republicans that supported that guy, handed over their hard earned cash so Trump could have his plane painted gold.

  22. I guess Chad was wrong and there was no red wave. This election renews my faith in America. Never mind who won what, the hard core trumpie q anon election deniers did not fare very well. No where is the failure of Bobert in Colorado more telling. A deeply red area that rejected her infantile rants and hate mongering. Good Republicans are saying enough is enough.
That said, it really is sad that Trump can brag about how rich he is and then appeal to blue collar Americans to chip in money that they need to pay for the refurbishment of a plane that he can now sell and pocket the proceeds. As he said, he can shoot someone in Central Park and his supporters would stand by him. What his supporters don’t realize is Trump was calling them suckers.

  23. Whoops, I didn’t proof read…I should have said ..no where is more telling than the failure of Boebert in Colorado….. but you get the point. An area that should have been a slam dunk for a Republican rejected her brand of hate and her inability to even remotely contribute to society. Like so many of the hate mongers Trump backed, Americans are rejecting them. Kind of sad, but it’s hard to believe that pragmatism and good old common sense were considered very much a part of the American way…..MAGA has certainly done their part to undermine that. Let’s hope we can start bringing some of that back and making lying a sin again.
