Voting for the Freddie Awards is Now Open!
Since 1988 the Freddie Awards have been recognizing the best in travel loyalty programs.
What’s unique is that the best of the best are voted on by members. You’ll be able to express your opinion on which programs are delivering the most value to you in several categories:
- Best Promotion
- Best Customer Service
- Best Redemption Ability
- Best Loyalty Credit Card
- Best Elite Program
- Program of the Year
You can vote in one region or in each of the three regions of the world, whichever you wish. And as a truly global awards program, balloting is available in several languages.
This is the largest awards program, and one respected by the industry. The awards ceremony will be held at Boeing’s Museum of Flight in Seattle at the end of April, and leadership of most of the major (and many of the smaller) frequent flyer programs will be in attendance. And most importantly it’s one that’s determined entirely by the members.
I have my own preferences and opinions, of course, as anyone reading this blog for even a few days likely knows. But I’m just one vote, even though I’m privileged to manage the nominations process for the Freddies.
Please consider expressing your opinion about what programs did the best last year, and cast your vote!
Here’s a video from last year’s event, held in the atrium of USA Today‘s headquarters, featuring interviews with American, Hyatt, Air France/KLM, and others. The newspaper was generous enough to give us a full page color ad to congratulate the winners in the Americas.

I pulled the lever with all the devaluations in mind …
I’d like to attend the Freddie Awards in person! How do I obtain a ticket? Happy to pay, or whatever the process is.
@JLarounis – not certain yet, there will be discussion on Milepoint for sure (for instance see http://milepoint.com/forums/threads/the-26th-annual-freddie-awards-who-wins-and-why.80907/) … I don’t know how many seats available, but generally cost is covered for guests.
I tended to vote against airlines I didn’t like on this/was pissed off about… ie United did not get selected once, and AA didn’t either just so they don’t think they can afford a devaluation.
Seems when they think they’re the best then they devalue.
