Harrison Ford Gets to Keep Flying After Nearly Landing on Top of an American Airlines 737
In February Harrison Ford, piloting his plane, landed on a taxiway instead of a runway and just missed coming down on top of an American Airlines Boeing 737 bound for Dallas.
Shockingly he “retains his pilot’s certificate without restriction” after the FAA determined “no administrative or enforcement action was warranted.”
Qantas Ramping Up US Lobbying Before Re-filing for Joint Venture With American Airlines
American shared during its earnings call in January that they planned to re-file an application for its expanded joint venture with Qantas now that a new administration is in charge at the Department of Transportation (and Elaine Chao has been nominated to lead the department).
Now The Hill is reporting that Qantas is ramping up its lobbying effort to secure approval for their joint venture with American.
Kathmandu Airport Shuts Down Due to Leopard Loose on the Runway
Kathmandu’s Tribhuwan International Airport is Nepal’s only international airport, and it has only a single runway.
So when a leopard was reported loose on the runway yesterday, the airport had to shut down. The airport was re-opened after half an hour, though the leopard was never found.
US Considering New ‘Extreme Vetting’ of ALL Visitors – Turn Over Cell Phones, Facebook Passwords
The US is considering new rules that would require longer and more extensive interviews at embassies prior to travel, forcing foreigneers to hand over their phones and questioning about ideologies — and not just for Muslims, or travelers from Muslim majority countries either.
This would apply to travelers from Germany, France, Japan and Australia, too.

RwandAir flies Kigali, Rwanda to Mumbai four times a week with a Boeing 737-800. It’s a 3248 mile flight.
This flight apparently takes just one hour.
87 Year Old Woman Compensated £40 After Sitting in Wet Clothes for 10 Hour Flight
An 87 year old woman flew London to Los Angeles on January 7 and apparently was told no when she asked to use to loo. The plane was “delayed on the runway for 90 minutes” and passengers weren’t allowed to get up.
Should You Leave the Lavatory Toilet Seat Up or Down: a Game Theoretic Approach
More than anything inflight you hope your seatmate actually uses the lavatory when needed. You use the lavatory even when the seat belt sign is on. Just be sure to only use the lavatory in your own cabin. And if you leave it stinky ask the flight attendant for a used pack of coffee grounds.
