Late for his flight, a Delta Air Lines passenger began banging on the door at his boarding gate in New Orleans. Perhaps he did not realize that when this door is closed there’s literally no one on the other side of it to open it back up. Pounding on the door won’t get a staffer’s attention.
Once the door is closed it is highly unlikely to be re-opened. You need a gate agent, and it’s only the rarest circumstances that anything can or will be done. This man wasn’t giving up, though.

An American Airlines passenger wasn’t allowed to board his flight from Austin to New York JFK because he was filming a gate agent that he thought was rude. The agent didn’t like him filming and called for a supervisor, who refused to allow him to take the flight. They deemed filming employees to violate the airline’s rules – though these are secret rules which do not appear published anywhere that customers can see them.
Police were called, the officer confirmed the passenger wasn’t breaking the law, but they still weren’t allowed to board.

A mother let her child draw all over the seat of a Delta Air Lines flight in order to keep them entertained. They were erasable, and wipes took care of the Crayola drawings. She says that a flight attendant was relieved the drawings came off the side of the aircraft, and off of the back of the tray table in front of them – while Qatar Airways crew were far more chill when she does this.
