Supermodel Chrissy Teigen Wants To Plan Your Next Airline Meal – And That Would Be Awesome
Supermodel Chrissy Teigen is a total frequent flyer geek.
Last year she even broke news about a flight turning back around to LAX due to a security issue when she and her husband John Legend were enroute to Tokyo. She’s even brunched with Chase Sapphire cardholders.
ANA Introducing New First Class Suites With Doors
Star Alliance carrier ANA is introducing Airbus A380 service between Tokyo and Honolulu. They didn’t really want A380s, but it’s how they got Airbus’ support as a creditor to take over bankrupt Skymark. This new Hawaii service will launch May 24.
We’ve now learned more about the inflight product as well including details of unique business class, coach (“joined to create a lie flat bed”) and first class.
American’s New Domestic First Class Cheeseburger
American Airlines has a new cheeseburger in domestic first class at lunch.
A year ago United upgraded their condiments in a deal with Sir Kensington. United then added Sir Kensington chipotle mayo this summer. American is using these same exact condiments — which are good but exhibit a sad lack of originality.
American Airlines Domestic First Class Gets All New Meals Starting Wednesday, Here’s What’s Served
American Airlines is rolling out new menus for domestic first class lunches and dinners this week, and will be flying starting Wednesday. New breakfasts follow next year.
Here’s what’s for lunch and dinner starting tomorrow — we can expect these meals, designed by chef Julian Barsotti, to be standard fare for the next year. That should give me plenty of time to try the new lunch cheeseburger.
American Launching New Buy On Board Meal Partnership, Will Affect First Class Too
It’s been quite some time since American Airlines refreshed their buy on board offerings in coach. Today they announced a new partnership with Zoës Kitchen. New items will be available for purchase starting December 1.
Surprisingly Civilized: Actual Printed Menus on a Midcon, Pillows for Shorthaul
Flight attendants may be given detail on an airline’s food. They rarely pay it much mind, and I usually get blank stares and shrugs when I ask something about a dish before I order it. So I’ve learned not to ask.
Not only did I get a description of the dishes I could choose from, I didn’t have to ask the flight attendant what the wines were. If I ask I usually get another blank stare, “red and white” or sometimes if I’m lucky they will show me the bottle.
Head to Head: United Polaris Burger vs. American Flagship Burger
A really great burger starts with quality beef. It should have processed cheese that melts well. And it should be inside of a potato bun.
Don’t give me ciabatta bread for a bun. Don’t give me a kaiser roll. As good as brioche can be, it’s not well-matched to a burger. The bun is a delivery vehicle for the burger. It needs to be big enough to contain the burger, but shouldn’t be so large that it overwhelms the burger.
Everything you put on the burger needs to fit inside of the bun. You don’t want the burger to fall apart when you eat it.
Successful Lawsuits Against Airlines for Failing to Board Your Kosher Meal, Not Letting You Sell Miles and More

American Airlines is Having a Hard Time Delivering Their New Extra Legroom Product With Free Drinks
American Airlines now offers free drinks in Main Cabin Extra seating. First class and Main Cabin Extra also have reserved signs on the overhead bins, though this isn’t something flight attendants are expected to enforce and I watch customers walking to the back of coach storing their backs up front all the time.
Last week at an employee town hall a flight attendant brought up to the carrier’s CEO Doug Parker that they’re having difficulty delivering the free drink benefit to customers in extra legroom seats.
